Attorney Spotlight: Rebecca L. Mann

Meet Rebecca L. Mann, a lawyer who has been at our firm for the last 10 years! She was born and raised in Spearfish, South Dakota, and attended undergraduate school at Black Hills State University followed by law school at the University of South Dakota. Rebecca enjoys all aspects of litigation work from motions practice, trial work, and appellate advocacy. Her practice areas include litigation, worker’s compensation, and her favorite practice area, governmental liability, because she enjoys representing counties and county officials in civil rights actions.

Meet Beth Young, an Advanced Certified Paralegal with a specialty in litigation! She has been working with Cris Palmer for 24 years, primarily in insurance defense, and enjoys the challenge of assisting him in the continuously evolving practice of law.

Attorney Spotlight: Justin DiBona

Meet Justin DiBona, an associate attorney at our law firm! Justin has been a lawyer with us for the last three years, practicing in the areas of Business, Estate Planning, and Probate. When we asked Justin why he wanted to become an attorney, his response was “I was intrigued by the work and I enjoy being able to help people accomplish their goals.

Attorney Spotlight: Don Knudsen

Meet Don Knudsen, one of our Employment Law attorneys who has been a lawyer for over 31 years! When we asked Don what he liked the most about being a lawyer, he stated “Piecing together little bits of evidence to reconstruct some past event and prove (as best I can) my client’s position is correct. And when it’s not, negotiating the best possible outcome for my client.” Don’s practice areas include primarily employment law which consists of discrimination, retaliation, employment contracts, and governmental tort liability which entails defending cities, counties, townships, school boards, etc. He also handles personal injury and commercial litigation. Out of all the practice areas, civil rights is his favorite.

Staff Spotlight: Shannon Roost, Certified Paralegal

Meet Shannon Roost, a certified paralegal who has been working for our firm for 29.5 years! Shannon first started working at the firm in 1989 for Wynn Gunderson. In 1990 she began working with Pat Goetzinger and has been working with him since. In 1995, Shannon became a certified paralegal. When we asked Shannon what her favorite part of being a certified paralegal is, she stated: “I enjoy assisting Pat and serving his clients’ needs.”

Attorney Spotlight: Chris Christianson

Chris has been a lawyer for five years, practicing in the areas of civil litigation, construction law, insurance defense, and real estate. When we asked Chris what he likes the most about being a lawyer, his response was “engaging and interacting with clients to address their concerns.” Chris is also involved in many different organizations such as the Pennington County Bar Association as a board member, Young Lawyers, Young Professionals Group, South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, and Leadership Rapid City.
